A James Beard Award Nominee for Excellence in Broadcasting, Mario was a writer for Season 4 of the Food Network’s “Mexican Made Easy”with Chef Marcela Valladolid. Mario was also host of “Living Today” on Martha Stewart Living Radio on Sirius/XM. He has baked his famous Mexican Chocolate Cake for Martha Stewart herself, appeared on Broadway in “Latinologues”, and continues to write, perform, cook, bake, crochet, and is a Reiki Practicioner on the Master Level.
A fourth-generation Mexican-American from South Texas, Mario is an award-winning playwright and author The Chalupa Rules: A Latino Guide to Gringolandia (Plume Books), Mario has over three-decades experience in television, radio, print, stage, and on-line communications. He has a deep interest in health issues and wrote the Atlanta and Miami Health Guides for the Uninsured.
